Who can take BLS?
Who can take BLS?
Anyone! Anyone can take Basic Life Support (BLS). While this class is required for nearly all healthcare providers for the purpose of maintaining employment and licensure, anyone can take it. While we cannot speak for every vocation, if you want to become a nurse or paramedic, this class is required for the application process before you even start the program you are applying to. So with that said anyone can take BLS.
Will my employer accept BLS if it is not required?
Absolute CPR cannot speak for your employer or academic institution (current or future), but we do not see why not. If there is any question about the wording of your BLS eCard because they do not recognize it or if they have not seen it before a comparison of the objectives will show it has the same objectives as CPr / AED and more. Making it a “better” class.
Absolute CPR would not hesitate to call or write a letter on your behalf, but we are not able to spea, for your employers or academic institutions.
With that said, we have never had to stand up for a BLS class credential. BLS has always been an acceptable CPR card.
If you are a mom, dad, personal trainer, masseuse, babysitter, nanny, and need to take CPR / AED class for non-healthcare providers is not available then you are more than welcome to take our BLS class.
