ACLS Classes in Chicago
We often get asked about our Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) classes and why they are not offered as frequently as our BLS or CPR classes. The reason is they is not every Healthcare Provider needs ACLS.
ACLS classes in Chicago
At Absolute CPR we offer ACLS (and PALS) four times a year – March, June, September, and December. We do have private classes at our office and teach off site at medical schools and nursing schoolls for their students. But for the general public its usually just the four times a year. We get asked why a lot. The reason is attendance. We cannot always get enough students together to offer class more frequently. we would end up only taching one or two students. Spacing classes we are usually able to get enough students registered to have a fun and exciting class.
More the marrier…
Since Advanced Cardiac Life Support is a much longer class, if only one or two students attend they usually get tired of answering all the questions and feel like they are under a microscope. Where as if we have a full class students can take turns rotating through different roles, taking greater turns answering questions, activity participating, then observing. It is a more enjoyable experience for everyone.
If you have a group of people looking to attend an ACLS class email our office and we can work with you to arrange a private class.
Should I take a class with Absolute CPR or at my work
While we are biased, we think our class is better than others. In this instance, taking a class your hospital offers “for free” is not always the best idea. Why you might ask. Be weary of hospital classes not open to the general public. If classes are for employees only the classes are probably being tailored to their hospital – this is how we want you to do things. Whille they probably do not vary greatly, if is wise to be well informed in lieu of “this is our way” if you were to change jobs. We strted this paragraph off saying we are biased. All we are suggesting is taking a class that is not biased. You should take an ACLS class not a “General Hospitlas ACLS” class. Come see the difference.
