A question we often get asked is about free CPR classes. While we do not know of any free CPR classes that would satisfy work or school requirements. Absolute CPR does offer free presentations at our office that we occasionally provide to schools, churches, and media outlets when requested.

Free CPR Classes

We have heard of free CPR classes being offered, but we are not aware of any that we can direct you to. More often we hear about students who find these free classes only to contact us afterwards because their employer or school will not accept the “free class” for their requirements. Absolute CPR’s position on CPR is if it is a requirement for work or school to ask what class they requireWe have a blog post about different CPR companies you should reference. Therefore, Absolute CPR suggests taking a CPR course overseen by either: the American Heart Association, American Red Cross, or Health Safety Institute.  Absolute CPR is an American Heart Association Training Site.  The American Heart Association classes we offer are accepted by hospitals, schools, and other governing bodies.

We have ever experienced a student telling us their employer or school would not accept their course completion card.

Presentations & Lectures

Absolute CPR is proud to have some very popular CPR instructors. Awarded winning instructors with decades of experience not just as an instructor but progressive careers in healthcare. Instructors who have publicly addressed the importance of learning this life saving skill.  Absolute CPR allocates time for these speakers to continue to educate the public about the importance of CPR by donating instructors time and classroom time to the general public. Absolute CPR makess these presntations free to the public. Topics change monthly and seats can fill quickly. Keep an eye on our web page for updates.

Purely Informational

The importance to perform CPR is great and in turn requires considerable formal training. Time is always the biggest characteristic students complain about regarding CPR training. But when think about how important these skills and knowledge are it is not possible to cover all the material in an hour. Therefor classes still remain hours in length.

However, if you are not required to perform CPR for work or school, if you are just doing this for reasons of curiosity or personal growth a free CPR class maybe wise to try to find.  Otherwise we offer a CPR / AED class multiple times a week at our Glen Ellyn office.
