Can I wait for my child / partner while they take a class?

No. Waiting for someone to finish class in our office is not permissible. Only registered students are able to be in the classroom during class. If there are any significant reasons to wait for another student in class you must notify Absolute CPR via email at info@absolutecpr.com well in advanced to allow us to make any accommodations if needed. Permission needs to be obtained. Otherwise we suggest you make two registrations so you can accompany class together. Note : Our building does not have. waiting room either. Loitering in the hallways is not allowed and considered a security issue with other tenants therefore not allowed. You are welcome to wait in your vehicle or visit the near by businesses.

Can I bring my child/children with me to class?

No. These classes require you to pay attention to instructional videos and to be physically active, caring for or watching over a child is not acceptable. Please find child care in advanced to your class date - please do not wait to the last minute.

Why is being on time for class important?

These classes are educational and taught by instructional videos. Waiting for every student to arrive could result in waiting all day in some situations which is not fair for the students who arrived on time. For students who are missing any instructional videos, your Course Completion Card cannot be issued if you are not present therefore if you miss any portion of these videos you will be considered a No Show, your Course Completion Card will not be issued and you will have to tregistrer for another class. Arriving on time cannot be stressed enough. Arguing with the instructor about attending class if you are ltardy is unacceptable, doing so in front of other students is also unacceptable.

Why are there so many policies?

Many of our policies are required by law. Our Privay Policy, Terms of Service, and Disclaimers are part of every organization designed to help protect the consumer (you) when interacting with each other (for example using our website). Our General Policies do look lengthly but time has proven them necessary. Everything stems from a real world scenarios. We once had parents bring their newly born infant babies to class, so we needed to make a policy regarding bringing your children to class. We have had friends and family members want to wait with students, so we had to write a policy saying friends and family members are not allowed to wait in the classroom. This is all done to ensure a safe, enjoyable experience for everyone.

What is your Cancellation and Rescheduling Policy like?

We feel we offer a very fair cancellation and rescheduling policy. Our policy offers a sliding scale in lieu of a strict date/time to allow cancellation or rescheduling. This sliding scale allows for some room for emergencies and for you to accommodate these emergencies accordingly. Giving you time to decide how you want to proceed. This schedule we have is not for punishment but instead designed for flexibility. Allowing you to manage your schedule

Why do you have a Cancellation and Rescheduling Policy?

This is a popular question we get asked occasionally. It is not because we are trying to be mean, just the opposite. We are trying to make a comfortable and enjoyable class for everyone. If there were no cancellation or rescheduling fees, people would just come to class when they want to, they would change dates when ever they wanted reserving seats in our class. When classes are not filling up we try to move students around so that we are not just teaching 2 or 3 people. Science has shown that these classes are more beneficial to learning when offered in a group setting - the videos shown are produced to be played in front of groups. So we do our best to teach groups of people instead of two or three students. We offer plenty of classes to choose from. Outside of emergencies there should not be many reasons to cancel or reschedule considering you picked this day to best fit your schedule.

Click on "Resources" on the bottom of every page to be directed here to this page - or click on General Policies to be taken to the Rescheduling and Cancellation Policies on the Resources Page. These Policies (along with others) are also available when you register for review and emailed to you during registration.

What if I am unable to perform CPR? (persons with limitations, wheelchairs, etc.)

No worries, we will work with you as best as we can to help you understand CPR. Just because you may not be able to get down and do CPR does not mean you cannot take the class and learn about CPR. We may not be able to issue you a course completion card saying you can do CPR, but we will not hesitate to teach you about CPR.

Do I need to be physically fit to take a CPR class?

Learning CPR will require you to be up nd down off the ground. When practicing and performing CPR, students will be kneeling next to manikins. Not the entire class, just the portions of practicing and performing CPR. Accommodations can be made for students upon request.

Do I have to pass a test?

All students need to pass the skills portions of CPR. However, written tests are only for our Healthcare Provider class such as BLS, ACLS, and PALS. Non-Healthcare Provider classes including CPR and First Aid do not require a written test.
